Preheat oven to 350F. Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
In a large bowl, whisk whole wheat flour with sugar, all purpose flour, quick oats, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and allspice.
In a medium bowl, whisk applesauce with egg and canola oil.
Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Be careful not to over mix, it's ok if there are a few pockets of flour. Using a standard ice cream scoop, scoop mixture into muffin tin. You should have enough for 12 muffins.
Bake in centre of oven for 18-20 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes in pan, then remove to wire rack and cool completely.
