Every now and then it’s fun to participate in a recipe contest – they’re challenging and force you to use those creative juices, that can be a little hard to channel at times. Especially when you’re loaded down with work and assignments (I handed in 4 major assignments this week). As a student and a part-time intern, finding the time to attend events can be a challenge. Scheduling my weeks can be like putting a puzzle together – but a fun puzzle with an amazing payoff. I was lucky that my class got cancelled so it was meant to be for me to attend the Summer Fresh blogger event. After an amazing and inspiring event in October at the Summer Fresh headquarters, they challenged us bloggers to come up with an appetizer recipe for their #FreshAPPYS recipe contest.
Sometimes it feels like you need to have it all figured out. Where you’re going to work in the summer, what you’re going to do after university, the list goes on and on. People say, “But you’re lucky, you already know what you’re passionate about!” Which is true, but I still have all those other questions to answer. We were lucky to be welcomed into the Summer Fresh family at this event, the day started off with Susan Niczowski, the incredible entrepreneur behind the brand, telling us her story. As someone trying to find my career path, I’m always inspired by these stories of success, hard work and entrepreneurship. The passion she and the other members of the Summer Fresh family have for what they do was contagious.
As for this recipe, my sister gave me the idea for this cheesy garlic bread, as it’s her favourite appetizer. You can find my recipe using Summer Fresh Kale Dip here. And head on over to the Summer Fresh Facebook page and let them know what you think of my recipe and the other recipes made by some fabulous bloggers.
